The Braun Series 9 9290cc is a high-quality electric shaver that brings a lot to the table in terms of function and performance. Why did I say that?
When I go looking for a staple of my bathroom routine I usually look for something long-lasting that offers a certain level of quality. I’m the kind of guy that will spend a little extra if I know that I’m going to get my money’s worth in time and efficiency.
Tools are investments, after all, not one-off purchases to be forgotten once they’re used. Compared to standard razors or shavers you can find for twenty bucks, the Braun Series 9 has impressed me greatly, even if I have a few minor reservations. That’s why I said that!
Braun Series 9 Electric Shaver: Exceptionally gentle
Braun Series 9 is one of the best electric shaver available on the market. The latest Braun shaver series 9 review shaver models are the 9095cc, 9295cc, 9290cc, and the 9293s.
Braun Series 9 9290cc (9291cc)
The various trimmers are designed to cut close to the skin and keep it smooth for the whole day. I found the blades to be good, but not so excellent that they left my skin raw or red.
I’ve used other electric shavers before that bring back high school memories of grooming clumsiness- not so with this model. That’s probably because of the SkinGuard strip; if so, it warrants its place on the feature list.
I found that the coating on the shaver gives it a premium look that’s hard to quantify. It’s not as though I’m introducing my guests to my bathroom every time they come over, but still.
Titanium Coated Blades:
Having a shaver like this is a psychological bonus that looks refined but masculine.
It’s not gold or anything gaudy; titanium gives a smooth, silvery finish that really ups the look of your entire bathroom.
The motor and head work in tandem to keep the shave quick but fine. I found that the normal trouble-spots of around my cheekbones and at the back of my jaw to be short work for the Braun Series 9 9290cc.
The fact that can use this either wet or dry is pretty standard when it comes to shavers nowadays, though it’s good that this essential quality wasn’t ignored by the designers.
Convenient LED Display:
The LED display is sleek and minimal. I don’t like shavers that have such complicated controls or “busy” screens. To me, a shaver is a really simple piece of tech that doesn’t need a million screens for the various functions. This has one button, one screen, LED lighting.
Very classy. It’s cordless, too, just to make things easier for the user.

Shaving performance
The shave I got from the Braun Series 9 9290cc was smooth and quick. These are two points that are the ultimate arbitrators of what constitutes a “good shave”.
After all, you can use a bad razor and manage a good shave, given enough time and care, but most of us have schedules and can’t spend so much time in the bathroom before we need to move on.
Braun Series 9 9290cc did its job well in a couple of minutes. I could take it into the shower, too, cutting down on the time I needed to spend getting ready.
I’ve used other shavers and hated the razor burn they’ve left behind. Ultimately, I didn’t feel that the Braun mangled my skin by any measure. I did notice that if I wasn’t paying attention, I was liable to leave the razor going on a jutting spot, like the back of my jawbone, and I have no doubt that the skin there would have been burned a bit if I’d left it longer than necessary.
Still, that might be solvable just by setting it to a lower level.
Blade design and operation:
The rotating head does wonder for getting those niche spots where hair evades blades like grass from a bad lawnmower.
My jaw, neck, and cheekbones all manage to get smooth shaves without duress. The shaver boasts that smart AutoSense tech, which supposedly tunes the motor to the various parts of your face. I certainly felt the difference between that motor and, say, a shaver I could have grabbed from the general store.
Braun Series 9 9290cc does have a considerable “hum” to it that can be a little grating if the shower isn’t running or if you’re taking extra time to make sure your shave is accurate. My wife could hear it through the bathroom door really clearly. This is a really minor nitpick, though.
Performance Pros and Cons:
✅ Easy maneuverability
• Noise is a little loud.
User Friendliness
The LED display is simplistic and uncluttered. I found that the 9290’s single button is a little large for the design of the handle, but once I got used to where it was I stopped accidentally turning it on and off.
The pivoting head took a little getting used to, as well, but once I did it made my shaves a lot smoother and quicker than they had been previously because I spent less time on the hard spots I mentioned earlier.
The titanium surface actually has a function besides its form that I’ve neglected to mention thus far, though. Titanium resists corrosion really well, so if you do tend to use your shaver in the water you don’t need to worry about ruining the whole thing in a few months or years.
It can be soaked and left to dry and it’ll be fine.
Accessories
The main accessory is the clean-and-charge station. This requires refills that you can order from Braun’s site, which is a bit of a bummer, but if you want to forgo the alcohol-cleaning you don’t actually need to order more of these refills.
The entire piece is a nice setup and a good perk for the shaver, but as I said before, I couldn’t tell if the lubricant that was applied beforehand really did much for the shave.
The Braun Series 9 9290cc already has so many things dedicated to making the shave smooth, safe, and comfortable that it felt a little like overkill and a way to keep extracting money from me once I’d purchased the shaver. Ultimately the station is nice to have but I don’t know how much I’d actually make use of all its features. Oh, it also comes with a minimal black carrying case for putting it into luggage.
Accessories Pros and Cons
• Lubricant effect isn’t really felt.
Ease of Use
The shaver is lined with rubber on the grip to prevent easy slipping, like if you’re shaving in the shower.
I found the Braun Series 9 9290cc to be pretty light and it glides across your skin, shaving cream or no. In fact, the guard that the piece comes with is so good you start to act a little cavalier with the shaver, taking broad strokes and going over several times to make sure you got everything.
Battery life and charging:
The charge time is about an hour and the shaver lasts for nearly the same amount of time, which I found to be a ratio that’s more than fair. I usually put my shaver back in the charging port, however, as soon as I’m done using it, so I can’t imagine using it for 50 minutes straight at any point.
This makes the battery time nice but not really…important. Still, one less thing to worry about! The 100 percent waterproof guarantee is a good thing if you take this into the bath, too.
• SkinGuard prevents rash effectively.
• Charge time and battery are exceptional.
How much should you spend on a Braun Series 9 9290cc?
The overall price for the shaver is hefty, but I looked at it the way I look at any quality piece of tech or hardware.
I’d rather spend more immediately for a higher-quality item that I won’t have to replace than buy a cheaper version and have to continually find new ones or be surprised when it breaks down.
I said earlier in this review that electric razors are tools. I stand by that opinion. And you would never buy a drill at such a cheap price that you’d expect it to break soon, right?
This shaver is, in my opinion, worth the cost because of the guaranteed satisfaction it brings to the table.
Since it’s so well made, you can comfortably that you won’t be replacing it any time soon. If it’s really a stickler for you, think of the price as a statement of confidence. Still, there are a few of the accessories that I found unnecessary, and I do wonder if excluding these might have made the price a little more accessible.
Braun Series 9 Replacement Head
This Braun Series 9 replacement head is very cheap. That said, this replacement head works great as I used, gentle with many feature-rich. It provides a good solution and was a foil & cutter replacement head.

My Final Thoughts
It’s a well-designed piece, overall. It’s fitted with a number of bells and whistles that have dubious effects on the shaving experience, but I find that most of them contribute to the feeling of quality that the Braun Series 9 9290cc brings to the bathroom.
The shave, the most important part of the experience, is phenomenal.
I really love this shaver, it gives me a smooth feeling when shaving, although I’m a fan of the Series 7, a product that is quite suitable for those with sensitive skin as me. I don’t foresee myself using any other shaver for quite some time, as this shaver managed my beard at several different levels without a problem.
I’m counting on its long-lasting design, too, since I have no desire to return to the realm of razor burn and red, raw skin from shaves that cut too close for comfort. It’s a good enough shaver that I would recommend it to anyone who was on the fence, even if it is a little on the pricey side. I don’t know if I’d actually ever buy the refills for the cleaning station, though.

Final Verdict
I travel a lot so the Braun Series 9 9290cc is my choice when I travel as it is smaller. Series 9 is the best electric razor I ever used.
First I bought Braun Series 3 that was also good but then I bought this Braun series 9290cc and this is the best an electric shaver can get. Since I bought it it has used to shave every day or 3rd day.
And the best thing since I bought Braun Series 9 9290cc I only charged it once the first day and after that, I’m continuously using it. I mean the battery life is awesome. I’ll highly recommend you this Braun Series 9 9290cc electric foil shaver.
This electric razor would be good for people who are unable to use a razor due to medical conditions or people who don’t have access to shaving cream or running water but apart from that don’t waste your money, just use a Gillette Mach 3 with shaving cream, one stroke over each part and you are done, clean as you like.
Braun Series 9 9290cc really is a great foil shaver. It has a place in anyone’s bathroom, regardless of your experience with higher-end shavers before. It gets its job done well enough to outshine all other competition, and in my mind, its largest flaws are the extra perks that it tries to comfort you with.
If a product’s worst part is that there’s too much good, well, that’s hardly an actual flaw at all, is it?

Believe me! Braun 9 9290cc is the best choice for you for a smooth, fast & convenient shave.
